Background & Experience
Regina Kardash was born on November 14 in Tampa, Florida. She grew up in Brandon, and graduated from Tampa Catholic High School with the class of 2000. Regina graduated in the top one percent of her class as President’s Scholar, received the Excellence in Theology Award, and was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society and Beta Club. Regina went on to Florida Southern College, graduating in 2002 with a Bachaelor of Arts in Humanities and concentrations in both Theology and Art History. She received multiple scholarships, including Florida Bright Futures and a Community Service Scholarship for her many volunteer hours accumulated during high school. During her summer semesters, Regina took advantage of scholarship opportunities to study Art History abroad in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Russia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude after making Honor Roll and Dean’s List practically every semester. She is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Academic Honor Society, and Alpha Omicron Pi Women’s Fraternity, later returning to serve her alma mater chapter on the Alumnae Advisory Committee after serving as the Ritual and Ethics Chair as a student member.
After completing her undergraduate course work, Regina studied additional foreign languages at the University of Scranton while working as a law clerk for the Law Offices of Domnick P. Pannunzio in Dupont, Pennsylvania. Upon returning to Florida, Regina decided to attend law school and additionally enrolled in Masters level courses in Art History at the University of South Florida while studying for the LSAT. Regina was admitted to Stetson University College of Law in 2005, and earned her Juris Doctor in 2007. Her elective studies at Stetson ranged from Trusts and Estates, Poverty Law and American Legal History to Trial Advocacy, International Criminal Law and International Business Transaction. Regina was also privileged to participate in one of Stetson’s International Law Study Abroad programs in The Hague and Frieburg Germany. The courses included International Tribunals, International Humanitarian Law, the Law of Armed Conflict and Comparative Law studies.
During her time at Stetson, Regina also participated in two Legal Internships, one with the City of St. Petersburg and the second with Gulfcoast Legal Services, Inc. Both internships helped to shape the future of her legal career. At the City of St. Petersburg, Regina was able to learn the discipline and scope of local government representation, and what it takes to effectively and efficiently advocate on behalf of a community. At Gulfcoast Legal Services, Regina was able to use her education and skills to help people that could not afford legal services. Through this internship, Regina also completed a course in The Basics of Domestic Violence Advocacy from the Family Justice Center in Hillsborough County. Both internship experiences proved to be rewarding and educational.
After graduating from Stetson and taking the Florida Bar, Regina began working with the Law Offices of James W. Denhardt. During her employment, Ms. Kardash represented a wide range of clients in both civil and criminal litigation, as well as representing local governments in Pinellas County. Regina was appointed by the respective governing bodies to serve as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Pinellas Park, Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Redington Shores and Alternate Special Magistrate for the City of Seminole. Regina has advised municipalities in all aspects of government business, as well as presided over board hearings and represented municipalities in litigation.
Regina believes in the strength and ties of community, and reaches out to participate in activities and organizations that give back to the community. In addition to her professional licensing memberships in the Florida Bar and Federal Middle District of Florida, Regina is a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, the Florida Municipal Attorneys Association and a Board Member of the Pinellas County Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers. Regina is a volunteer Hearing Officer with the St. Petersburg Housing Authority, has served the Sixth Judicial Circuit as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem since 2008, and previously served as the Entertainment Chair of the Art Arbor Committee to benefit Boyd Hill Nature Preserve in St. Petersburg, FL. Regina is also a graduate of the Leadership St. Pete Class of 2010, and continually supports and encourages others to also take on leadership roles in the community.
